Groundman (Electrical-General Maintenance Worker) Location: Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA City Light & Power (CLP) is looking for a Groundman (Electrical-General Maintenance Worker) to join our crew at Join Base Lewis-McChord, WA. CLP has built a reputation as an innovative, reliable, and responsive private Utility Development Leader. We support the federal government, military institutions, municipalities, and major utilities across the US, with financing, design, engineering, construction, and ongoing operations and maintenance for electrical transmission and distribution systems, as well as outdoor street, sport, and other recreational lighting. The Groundman is part of the team who supports the Journeyman Lineman Workers and operates jackhammers, man hauls, loads and unloads materials and equipment and other related duties. City Light & Power guarantees 40 hours of work every week. Assist with the framing and erecting of poles, making, installing, pulling guys and assembling and erecting fixtures. May use hand-mechanized tools to assist tower and pole assembly. May operate pick-up trucks and light flatbed trucks, service trucks and equipment on distribution and transmission lines. Will be required to respond to emergency callouts to restore electrical service as needed, which can involve working in different adverse weather conditions to restore service. May drive bucket trucks, line trucks, and light trucks on the job.
