About you and this role:

Dowhas an exciting opportunity for anIndustrial Hygiene Specialistlocated inFort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.

The Industrial Hygiene (IH) Specialist leads hub or site IH compliance and implementation of the management system in industrial hygiene. Maintains the license to operate for the site or hub. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.

This role will support the Fort Saskatchewan Path2Zero program. The Path2Zero (P2Z) program will create the first net-zero emissions site of its kind in the world. The Fort Saskatchewan P2Z program is a key enabler to Dow’s Decarbonization strategy. Responsibilities:

  • Leads implementation of global IH management systems.

  • Leads EH&S performance improvement of assigned site.

  • Coordinates, implements, and optimizes IH programs and compliance programs across site.

  • Participates in incident investigations and the corrective action process for EH&S issues and opportunities.

  • Performs central review of all IH related documents and submittals to ensure consistency and compliance goals are met.

  • Performs Requirements Management Work Process (RWMP) roles as needed.

  • Initiates and supports management of change (MOC) for EH&S programs and compliance matters, as necessary.

  • Acts as Agency Visit protocol owner and implementer.

  • Manages permits including submittal of permit applications for new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes, and submittal of permit renewal applications.

  • Coaches, trains, and mentors EH&S technicians.

  • Performs site or plant gap assessments around IH work process implementation.

  • Develops, reviews, monitors, creates and deliver training as appropriate.

Your Skills:

  • Analytical Thinking:Ability to systematically and logically break down complex problems or information into smaller, more manageable parts.

  • Communication: Effectively exchange information and ideas between individuals or groups.

  • Regulatory Compliance:Ensure the organization adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.

  • Group Problem Solving:Collaborate with multiple individuals to identify, analyze, and resolve issues.

  • Safety Assurance:Ensure the organization meets its safety objectives and maintains high safety standards.

  • Change Management:Ability to manage and implement change.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.

  • A minimum of 3 years IH, EH&S, manufacturing or related experience required.

  • Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) certification.

  • Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH) certification.

  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.
