The Podiatry and Orthopedics Teams are looking for a passionate and motivated Medical Assistant to work at our clinics located at the Fruitland Health Plaza!
Position Summary & Highlights :
This position will work 50% with a Podiatry physician and 50% with a new Orthopedics provider.
You will work primarily at the Fruitland Orthopedics clinic, but will occasionally fill in at the Nampa and Caldwell Orthopedics/Podiatry clinics when needed.
The Podiatry clinic specializes in surgical and non-surgical treatment of foot and ankle problems including athletic injuries, fractures, arthritis, deformities, tendinitis, and ingrown toenails.
Our Podiatry providers employ the most advanced medical and rehabilitative techniques to achieve rapid recovery and optimal long term results.

Our clinics offer patients both surgical and non-surgical treatment options for their problems. Patients can feel confident they are in capable hands with board-certified Orthopedic Surgeons whose highest priority is excellence in patient care.
What You Will Do :
In addition to the typical MA duties, you will prep injections for minor procedures, complete chart prep, DME application, wound care and suture removals.
You will also assist with surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, MRI authorizations, and potentially casting and cast removal.
An ideal candidate would have an interest in sports medicine and orthopedics, is a quick learner, has an easy going personality, and is a flexible team player willing to jump in on whatever is needed to be done.
Work Schedule:
40 hours/week, Mondays – Thursdays, around the hours of 6:30am – 5:00pm. Shift start and end time may vary based on provider schedule and clinic needs.

Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
Completion of either 6 months MA experience or completion of 100-hour MA externshipis required even with MA certification.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
*Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT or CNA certification does not count towards an MA certification.
