County of Gaston Central Transport Dispatcher in Gastonia, North Carolina
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
- Receive transportation requests from the general public and agency representatives via email, telephone, or fax.
- Assign scheduled trips to vehicles and transporters.
- Operate a two-way radio for monitoring and communicating with the transporters throughout the day.
- Provide general or directional information to the public; interprets departmental or County policies and procedures; receives and screens telephone calls resolving inquiries or complaints for the Transportation Coordinator.
- Types routine letters, memorandum, forms and reports from information provided by the public, rough drafts or notes; operates office equipment.
- Verify reports to ensure passenger's trip requests are scheduled.
- Maintain a daily dispatch log, documenting all transportation related calls.
- Perform any related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation with a High School Diploma or GED equivalency with prior clerical experience, including computer software, required.
Dispatch experience preferred.
