Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment along with facility maintenance that supports the overall business goals and objectives. Working with Machine Operators, Production Supervisor, and Manager, this role will encompass a hands-on approach, working side-by-side to complete routine repairs, corrective repairs, and emergency maintenance and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.

  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.

  • Provide guidance and training to operators that cover electrical and mechanical equipment.

  • Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices.

  • Request parts and maintain inventory of tools for the workforce.

  • Encourage team effort.

  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation.

  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform duties.

  • Ensure machinery and mechanical equipment are operating efficiently.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform maintenance on a variety of automated machinery, including PLCs, pneumatics, robotics, and electrical systems.

  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety procedures.

  • May require working any shift, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in manufacturing.

  • Ability to diagnose PLCs (Siemens).

  • High School Diploma.

  • Robust character; operates well under pressure.

  • Strong electrical and mechanical skills.

  • Experience working within OSHA safety guidelines and proper use of PPE.

Work Environment

The work environment involves frequent exposure to heat and cold, work at elevations greater than 10 feet, and lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. The role requires performing repetitive tasks for extended periods, including standing, lifting, bending, sitting, and kneeling. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The shift schedule is 223, from 6 am to 6 pm, with no night shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gastonia, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
