County of Gaston Project Analyst in Gastonia, North Carolina

- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to capital improvement projects, including budget forecasts, project timelines, and performance metrics.
- Develop models and tools to assess project feasibility, financial impact, and return on investment.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, funding applications, and reports for stakeholders, including government agencies and community groups.
- Collaborate with project managers to monitor project progress and provide analytical support for decision-making.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing project findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Maintain accurate records of project activities, financial transactions, and compliance with regulations.
- Serve as a liaison between the Capital Improvement Office and other departments, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate effective communication.
- Present analysis and project updates to internal teams and external stakeholders as required.
- Conduct research on best practices in capital improvement project management and emerging trends in infrastructure development.
- Assist in identifying potential funding sources and grant opportunities for capital improvement projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Finance, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in project analysis, financial analysis, or a related field is required.
A combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered.
A Master's Degree and/or previous experience in a government or public sector environment is preferred. Experience in capital improvement projects, urban planning, or infrastructure development is highly desirable.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, statistical software, GIS) and project management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
