As a Corrosion Protection Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to offer project management support for the Corrosion Protection Program. This involves collaborating with Production, Maintenance, and Asset personnel to provide technical guidance and services pertaining to the repair and maintenance of painting, fireproofing, and cathodic protection systems.

Developing asset strategies, gathering project scopes, generating and acquiring cost estimates, preparing funding requests, and employing Value Based Engineering practices to optimize project execution throughout the Geismar site.
Enhancing the site's corrosion protection (painting and fireproofing) program by implementing a structured approach for prioritizing assessments and repairs.
Providing technical support to ensure site personnel compliance with BASF procedures and relevant inspection and repair codes, as well as recognizing the connections between technical solutions and business concerns.
Supporting reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs, and enhance overall asset effectiveness.
Conducting periodic field surveys and executing corrective actions to maintain the site's cathodic protection program.
Developing and reporting metrics related to strategic programs, such as corrosion protection and cathodic protection.
Collaborating with counterparts in other companies within the BASF Group, as well as industry organizations.
If you...
Hold a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Project Management, or an Engineering discipline preferred.
Have at least 5 years of experience in project management, engineering, fixed equipment, maintenance and reliability, or other corrosion-related field.
Possess a working knowledge of coating (paint) and fireproofing surface preparation, application, and inspection techniques.
Demonstrate a general understanding of maintenance and reliability activities associated with fixed equipment and piping.
Have a general technical knowledge of paint and fireproofing systems.
Possess a basic understanding of cathodic protection systems and oversight of periodic cathodic protection surveys following NACE standard practices.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize daily tasks.
