Intermountain Health Clinical Nutrition Supervisor in Grand Junction, Colorado
Job Description:
The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor reports to the clinical nutrition and/or department manager and has accountability for registered dietitian and clinical diet tech caregivers within a clinical department. The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor actively oversees the operations and provision of clinical nutrition care by the team. The Clinical Nutrition Supervisor works closely with the clinical nutrition and/or department manager to implement system standards, define department goals and workflows, and support frontline caregiver competency. This role is expected to provide some direct patient care.

Shift: 5, 8hr shifts. 3 shifts in direct patient care, 2 designated to working on supervisory tasks. No on call

Scope
This role has direct reporting responsibility for a team of registered dietitians and clinical diet techs within a facility department and is accountable for the day-to-day operations of that team. A designated portion of this role is spent in providing direct patient care (at least 1 shift per week on average).
Job Essentials:
Provides and coordinates the delivery of evidence-based nutrition care through effectively managing time, supplies, and resources within the team.
Supports and enforces department policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and professional licensure.
Leads team contributions to Intermountain Fundamentals of Care (e.g. safety, quality, patient experience, etc.)
Serves as an expert clinical resource for registered dietitians, clinical diet tech, and interdisciplinary team members.
Problem solves and addresses complaints or concerns promptly and escalates appropriately.
Responsible for performance, competency, training, and development of clinical expertise within direct reports.
Assists clinical nutrition and/or department manager in decisions related to department staffing.
Assists clinical nutrition and/or department manager is setting department strategy, goals, KPIs, and action plans.
Minimum Qualifications (based on other Intermountain Clinical Nutrition job descriptions)
Bachelors in dietetics, nutrition, or nutrition related field. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.
Certified Dietitian or Licensed Dietitian obtained within two months of hire in the state of practice is required.
Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Successful completion of an approved Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) program
Three years of clinical nutrition experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of current medical nutrition therapy.
Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet, e-mail, and scheduling applications.
Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Minimum Qualifications (alternative to above that is less dependent on education/years of experience
Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Certified Dietitian or Licensed Dietitian obtained within two months of hire in the state of practice is required.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of Clinical Nutrition.
Experience leading or mentoring others.
Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Commission of Dietetics recognized specialty certification (e.g. CSP, CSR, CNSC, CDCES)
Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or other related professional associations / organizations.
Previous formal leadership or supervisory experience.

Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate supplies and equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$37.46 - $57.80
