Job Title: Material Handler - 1st Shift
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler for the 1st shift. The ideal candidate must not be afraid of heights as they will be trained to operate a cherry picker forklift. The position offers an hourly rate of $18.50 and typically runs from 8 am to 4:30 pm, with the potential to start earlier depending on daily needs. This role is a potential temp-to-perm opportunity.
Responsibilities
Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and correctly process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
Receive materials and/or finished goods daily, verifying the quality, type, and amount of materials received are correct and that appropriate documentation (e.g., packing list) is present.
Operate distribution equipment as required in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures, including room temperature (59-86°F), cold-room (36-46°F), and freezer-room (-4 to 23°F).
Complete training requirements and adhere to all standards pertaining to site Distribution, including Control of Documents and Quality Policy.
Communicate effectively with internal personnel and provide excellent customer service.
Understand and interpret team metrics, recognizing deviations from accepted practice.
Maintain strong attendance performance and be ready to start work on time daily.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
0-2 years of related experience.
Ability to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures and meet schedules.
Capability to operate powered industrial trucks, including at various heights.
Basic computer skills to navigate ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Some experience in logistics with a life science company preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Not afraid of heights.

Work Environment
Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures, including room temperature (59-86°F), cold-room (36-46°F), and freezer-room (-4 to 23°F). Perform highly repetitive tasks, walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs continuously, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Be prepared to handle packaged hazardous materials. The noise level is usually moderate to high. Flexibility to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed is required. Occasional local travel may be necessary. The role may involve varying degrees of stress throughout the day.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
