Description
Our client is a family law firm in Hanford, California seeking an experienced family law paralegal to join their tight-knit, dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in a family law firm environment as well as excellent writing and drafting skills. This position requires daily attendance at the client's law firm office in Hanford.
Responsibilities
• Support staff for attorney in various aspects of legal work including case management, document preparation, and client communication
• Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions and discovery request
• Interview clients to gather necessary information for case preparation
• Communicate with court personnel and opposing parties/counsel
• Maintain client files and documents in a paperless office environment
• Assist attorney in preparing for trails and hearings
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and answering phone calls
Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate, and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of two years proven experience as a paralegal in family law
• Experience with family law programs: DissoMaster, Xspouse, Propertizer, and essential forms
• Excellent writing and drafting skills
• Proficient legal research
• Knowledge of legal drafting principles and procedures
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite
• Bilingual: English/Spanish
