The Global Vaccine Public Policy & Partnerships team aims to improve vaccine policies that enhance individual and public health while supporting our vaccine business. Public policy significantly influences how vaccines are purchased, delivered, and accessed in both public and private sectors. Our efforts are guided by research and strategic initiatives.
Position Description
Under the direction of the State Vaccines Public Policy Lead, the Associate Director of Vaccine Policy and Government Relations (PGR) for the Western Region (approximately 10 states) assists in, develops, and executes upon our priorities for state-level policy activities designed to ensure access to vaccines. The role requires extensive travel (approx. 50%) often with limited advance notice.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and analyze barriers to vaccination in a particular state, as well as potential policy solutions to enhance access.
Build relationships with key external policy and advocacy stakeholders to help achieve policy objectives that safeguard and expand access to vaccines.
Monitor and track policy trends within states and the region in order to anticipate potential barriers to accessing vaccines or opportunities to expand access.
Communicate the status of vaccine policy initiatives and issues among external stakeholders and members of internal cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Professional degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Public Administration, or related fields preferred.
Minimum of 7 years' experience required.
Ability to travel approximately 50% within the region.
Strong preference for the individual to reside in the region.
Skills/Experience:
Experience or transferable skills in working with State Immunization programs, State Departments of Health, and/or Medicaid programs.
Ability to navigate complex public health and health care policy issues and develop innovative policy and advocacy solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communication and time management skills.
Proven ability to collaborate with multiple teams and influence without authority.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
