We are looking for a Maintenance Tech to join our team at Coastal Community Action! CCA is a private nonprofit corporation providing a variety of services to a target population of low-income children and families in ten counties in eastern NC, with a mission of empowering them to become self-sufficient.

This position is accountable for general maintenance, repair and upkeep of all Child Development Center (Head Start) facilities.

What You'll Do:

• Completes any needed maintenance as directed in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety regulations.
• Monitors condition of facilities and completes repairs on the spot when possible making recommendations as to the need for contracting all their maintenance needs to supervisor.
• Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches, fuses and bulbs.
• Maintains inventory of tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Performing carpentry duties such as painting, furniture assembly and repair; moving furniture and other equipment as necessary; adjusting air vents and air handling filters; repair of faucets and toilet valves.
• Conducts inventories of equipment, supplies, and products.
• Responsible for the upkeep of playground and other outside child activity spaces.

What You'll Have:

• Three or more years related experience including construction experience.
• First Aid and CPR certification or ability to acquire certification within 60 days of employment.
• Valid background clearance.
