Heber City is seeking seasonal public works operators to help maintain its grounds and support City infrastructure.

Returning employees will receive an increase of $1 hourly from the prior season. The Seasonal Operators, under the direction of the assigned Foreman play a crucial role in maintaining the City's parks, Cemetery grounds, facilities, landscaped areas, and streets. This full-time, seasonal position involves lawn care, equipment operation, and general maintenance within Heber City. We need multiple people, so refer your friends and work together.

Essential functions include:

• Mowing grassy lawns and open space with city-owned lawn mowers and weed abatement tools
• Repairing street damage
• Checking water meters
• Maintaining proper safety gear and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment 'PPE'
• Must be reliable and on time
• Ability to follow and execute instructions
• Positive attitude is encouraged

Responsibilities & Typical Duties:

1. Lawn Mowing and Trimming:

   • Operate lawn mowers to maintain grass areas in parks and cemeteries.
   • Trim grass edges and ensure a neat and uniform appearance.
   • Water grass as needed to promote healthy growth.

2. General Lawn Clean-Up:

   • Perform leaf blowing, raking, and litter collection.

   • Keep pathways and open spaces clear of debris.

     Equipment Operation:

     • Safely operate blowers, weed trimmers, and various hand tools.

     • Conduct routine checks on equipment (mowers, trimmers, etc.) to ensure proper functioning.

     • Follow safety protocols and guidelines for equipment use.

       Maintenance Duties:

       • Assist with basic maintenance tasks, including minor repairs.
       • Paint structures and amenities as needed.
       • Participate in cemetery maintenance.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily.
• Familiarity with basic lawn care equipment and tools.
• Safety-conscious and detail-oriented.
• Physical stamina for outdoor work.

Compensation

• Hourly wage: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour DOE

Heber City requires a pre-employment drug test.
