Yanfeng International Automotive Technology US I LLC Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Engineer in Highland Park, Michigan
- Develop, modify, or debug MES logic and related IT Applications to enhance the equipment interface and operation of the MES.
- Diagnose and help resolve causes of process and communication malfunctions on all equipment.
- Author and execute software validation activities with proper oversight to support and maintain the MES.
- Provide training to technicians on the operation and diagnostics of the machine process and applications.
- Provide production support for MES functions including QAD interfaces, PLC interfaces, Electrical Test interfaces, MES master data maintenance and process modeling, MES functionality (transactions and user interfaces), and Database/reporting functions.
- Create reports/dashboards from data stored in various production databases.
- Work with Process Engineers, Production departments, IT, and Maintenance to evaluate MES requirements for production line improvements and modifications.
- Support web applications and solutions.
- Coordinate IT/MES activities with internal and external departments for zero downtime goals.
- Modify and create SQL queries and stored procedures to create reports and functions.
- Provide expertise in the technical operations of the plant.
- Responsible for shop floor systems, manufacturing applications, and machine integration with MES, printers, and other manufacturing hardware.
- Provides technical support to troubleshoot equipment issues through structured problem-solving processes.
- Responsible for the implementation of production line systems and improvement of existing system by modifying and/or updating MES process flow.
- Support manufacturing metrics (Safety, Engineering Change, OEE, Scrap, Waste).
- Configure system settings and options; plan and execute integration acceptance testing with required documentation.
- Perform system configuration changes, monitor systems, and correct errors.
- Research and implement cost-effective upgrades to the equipment and manufacturing applications.
- Primary IT support resources for PC/Server, ERP, and shop-floor systems; analyze system issues and provide solutions; escalate system issues to Regional IT Manager or to Global/Regional IT teams.
- Responsible for the daily operations of computer systems including system administration, security, process adherence, and documentation equipment installation and system backup; installation and maintenance of equipment, application and o/s upgrades, patches, and new releases.
- Provide key plant IT contact for internal and external Yanfeng customers.
- Ensure company IT activities are communicated in a timely fashion to the plant leaders and both local and regional IT staff.
- Serve as project manager for IT initiatives within the facility.
Responsible for ensuring adherence to strategic Yanfeng IT initiatives, standard technologies, policies, security, and Business Operating System (BOS) processes throughout the plant
