Immediate Hiring : Railcar Repairman
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Railcar Repairman who will be responsible for performing 60% mechanical work and 40% welding work to repair railcars. This is a physically demanding and dirty job, with a preference for flux core welding experience, though MIG welders can also be trained. The role requires working safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks, interpreting job work orders, and following blueprints/schematics to complete repairs.
Responsibilities
Work safely around heavy equipment, railcars, and railroad tracks.
Coordinate and complete all railcar repairs and maintenance.
Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints/schematics to perform required repairs.
Utilize basic mechanical skills and build knowledge of machines and tools to weld, cut, and gouge.
Notify of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks.
Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean, and comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety policies.
Ensure FRA, AAR, and customer quality standards are met.
Complete any other duties as assigned to complete the task.
Essential Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to weld.
Knowledge of hand tools, air tools, etc.
Experience with flux core welding preferred.
Ability to stand for long periods and work in various environmental conditions.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with mechanical or railcar work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in grinding, air tools, hand tools, mechanical assembly, and fabrication.
Strong troubleshooting and torch cutting skills.
Ability to lift repetitively throughout the day.

Work Environment
The work environment is heavy industrial, very hot in the summer, and cold in the winter. The position requires working in all conditions, including a very dirty environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
