Job Description
As a Consulting Member of Technical Staff, you will play a key role in driving the technical direction of our JavaScript-fueled applications, ensuring they are optimized for performance, security, and usability. You will leverage your expertise in browser internals, performance optimization, and analytics to inform design decisions, develop best practices, and mentor junior developers. Your strong analytical and requirements management skills will enable you to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, identify complex problems, and develop creative solutions.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities include:
Technical Leadership : Provide technical guidance and oversight for web application development, ensuring alignment with company goals and industry best practices.
Browser Internals Expertise : Develop and maintain a deep understanding of browser internals, including rendering engines (e.g., Blink, Gecko), JavaScript engines (e.g., V8, SpiderMonkey), and web platform APIs.
Performance Optimization : Analyze and optimize web application performance using tools like WebPageTest, Lighthouse, and Chrome DevTools, ensuring fast and efficient user experiences.
Analytics and Data-Driven Decision Making : Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data to inform design decisions, identify trends, and measure the impact of optimizations.
Future Development : Collaborate with the team(s) to design and implement new features that take advantage of cutting-edge browser technologies, such as WebAssembly, WebGL, or emerging web platform APIs.
Requirements Management : Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, prioritize, and refine requirements, ensuring that technical solutions meet business needs and user expectations.
Code Review, Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing : Mentor junior developers on best practices, performance optimization techniques, and browser internals, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Complex Problem Solving : Identify and resolve complex technical problems, developing creative solutions that balance competing priorities and constraints.
Your qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
12+ years of experience in software development or equivalent experience
Comfortable in complex code and development environments – particularly in JavaScript
Good fundamental knowledge of Cloud-based computing
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
