Overview
We are partnering with a non-profit, faith-based organization located in downtown Indianapolis in their search for an Interim Accounting Manager. This onsite role is instrumental in leading the accounting team and ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, with a strong emphasis on month-end close activities. Key Responsibilities
Oversee Month-End Close Process
Lead the month-end close process, including reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial statements are accurate and completed on time.
Prepare and review adjusting journal entries as needed to ensure completeness of financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and organizational accounting policies (Source: Q1 2025 Report).
Accounting Operations Oversight
Supervise the daily functions of the accounting team to ensure that receivables, payables, and payroll processes are accurately and efficiently managed (Source: Demand Report).
Oversee reconciliations, including bank accounts, credit cards, grant funding, and other relevant ledger accounts.
Financial Reporting
Compile and present monthly financial statements to senior leadership and provide insights into variances, ensuring data integrity and transparency.
Assist in preparing for audits by ensuring clear documentation and adherence to internal control practices.

Requirements
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred but not required.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience including month-end close, with prior non-profit accounting experience strongly preferred.
Leadership or management experience within accounting or finance roles.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software and tools (experience with non-profit-specific software a plus).
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for creating and analyzing reports.
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage competing priorities and deliver on deadlines.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Alignment with the faith-based mission of the organization.
