Major Responsibilities:
Accounting and Management Reporting : To provide the highest quality bookkeeping, financial reporting and analysis to the Country management team, the Region management team and International Finance. Responsible for the process of collecting, sorting, summarizing and distributing the right financial information to those who need it.
Financial Analysis: To develop cost control mechanisms and PO management for efficient budget control. Responsible for the process of understanding and translating financial data into meaningful information for both the affiliate and the international finance.
Business Processes: The achievement of specific business objectives through well-designed and efficient standard operating policies which are in line with SOX requirements. To deal with the internal and external auditors.
People Management: Activities that ensure we attract, retain and develop the people we hire to the mutual benefit of the individual and ELC.
Accountabilities:
Ensures Timely and Accurate Reporting
Ensure sound financial controls, policies and procedures are in place to meet our changing business environment (e.g. retail stores, sales to hair salons etc.) in accordance with corporate requirement and comply fully with local statutory convention.
Ensure 100% compliance with US GAAP (including new lease accounting procedures)
Collaborate with the brands regarding accounting issue and provide appropriate advice to them.
Ensure timely submissions of tax and other declarations to the local authorities.
Follow up SAP updates and support to the users.
Control and maintain all invoices, delivery notes and other legal books.
Oversees month end close process to ensure timely close and financial reports preparation.
Manages Operational Effectiveness
Ensures compliance with ELC global policies and procedures.
Meets all key NY reporting due dates.
Assist Finance Director to control actual spending with the budget.
Supervise the preparation and on-going development of monthly, quarterly and annual financial/management reports to ensure their accuracy and timely distribution.
Assumes certain responsibilities held by the Finance Director in his/her absence.
Leads monthly Trial Balance Meetings and BS reconciliations, writes minutes, and conducts the necessary follow-up.
Improves Business Processes
Identify resource requirements in terms of people, systems, and equipment.
Keep abreast of new accounting and financial concepts, techniques and principles.
Coordinate relationship with 3 rd party service provider for outsourced RTR and PTP operations
Leads and Develops People and Builds Organizational Capability
Train, develop and motivate the accounting and marketing services staff through job enrichment, rotation and incentive with an aim to prepare them for higher level of challenge.
Provides leadership, guidance and management to staff.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree minimum, MBA preferred
10 years of experience
Previous accounting or finance experience in a multi-national company highly desirable.
Over 5 years relevant working experience holding similar position in the consumer products industry.
High level of written and spoken English
Excellence in Microsoft Office applications and SAP incl. BI
Previous accounting or finance experience in a multi-national company highly desirable.
Over 5 years relevant working experience holding similar position in the consumer products industry.
High level SAP knowledge required, also having experience of SAP transition from another ERP system is a big plus.
CPA degree (SMMM) will be an asset.
Basic understanding of the country’s economic, political, social, cultural, and business landscape and issues.
