Large utility is looking for a Construction Manager in Jackson, MI. The Construction Manager oversees and ensures the safe, timely, and cost-effective execution of gas facility construction projects, managing teams, resolving conflicts, and maintaining compliance with standards and documentation requirements. responsibilities:
Monitor and manage safety, scope, cost, and schedule during the construction phase of projects.
Report directly to the Project Manager (PM) and supervise all team members, including contractors and company employees, during the construction phase.
Ensure construction adheres to applicable company-generated or industry standards, with input from subject matter experts.
Facilitate pre-construction meetings with a focus on safety and communicate schedule or construction recommendations to the PM.
Oversee pre-fabrication and onsite construction, tracking safety, scope, quality, risk, schedule, and budget.
Report daily progress to the Project Manager.
Supervise contract inspectors and resolve issues related to materials, construction, and scheduling conflicts.
Coordinate testing and start-up of installed equipment.
Develop punch lists and obtain sign-off for the turnover checklist from the Field Leader (FL).
Skills:
Experience and knowledge of gas facilities construction.
Knowledge of field operations and equipment operations.

Effective negotiation, organizing, planning, and priority-setting skills.
