Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator - Remote

Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 am EST - 6:00 pm/8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST

As Durable Medical Equipment Coordinator you’ll contribute to our success in the following ways:

  • R espond promptly to email orders within 60 minutes; escalate to the clinical team if additional information is required and follow up with a phone call to ensure patient needs are met.

  • A ddress STAT or urgent requests during designated shifts.

  • P rovide on-call support in a rotational schedule to meet patient needs 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

  • O btain non-formulary approval from authorized approvers.

  • C oordinate equipment orders and pickups when patients move.

  • E nsure clinical team is informed of out-of-stock items and facilitate equipment swaps for new patient admissions or billing adjustments.

  • P romotes Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement and administrative policies to ensure quality of care.

  • O ther duties as assigned to support the changing needs of the business.

What is Required?

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.

  • 1+ years experience in hospice or home care.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suites is HIGHLY preferred

  • Knowledge of DME is HIGHLY preferred

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities, documentation requirements and meet deadlines.

  • Must have dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in accordance with the laws of the state.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently and be able to lift at least 25lbs.
