A-State participates in E-Verify.\ \ Position Summary:\ \ Henderson State University Department of Advanced Instructional Studies and Special Education announces a full-time position available in the Teachers College to begin August 2025.\ \ The Department of Advanced Instructional Studies and Special Education has a history of excellence in preparing graduates with the knowledge, skills, and expertise needed to meet the needs of the students in their care in early childhood through twelfth-grade settings.\ \ Duties & Responsibilities:\ \ The successful candidate will have:\

  • A strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate instruction;
  • Experience in program review and program development;
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching and the use of creative/innovative pedagogies;
  • The ability to teach online;
  • Knowledge of current trends in Special Education;
  • A commitment to research and scholarly activities.
  • Candidates will supervise students in the clinical setting, continuing our existing positive relationships with the teachers and principals at local schools and facilities

\ \ Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:\ \ Experience teaching, advising, and supervising education students at the undergraduate and graduate levels desired.\ \ Ability to teach a broad range of early childhood special education courses, including teaching methods courses for early childhood.\ \ Demonstrated ability to teach using multiple formats, including synchronous and asynchronous online, blended, and face-to-face, sometimes using Zoom/Teams and face-to-face at the same time for the same class to reach remote students.\ \ Excellent understanding of American educational systems and classrooms.\ \ Candidates should have practical interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including working collaboratively with colleagues and students.\ \ Organizational, human relations, and technological skills are expected.\ \ General Days/Hours:\ \ Other:\ \ Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M.
