Google Technical Operations Manager, Program Management Lead in Kansas City, Missouri

Role Description
As the Program Management Lead, you will manage a team of program managers to ensure schedules are met and critical projects are delivered. These projects will span engineering, operations, construction, budgets, forecasting and planning meaning you will have the opportunity to refine and evolve them as well as see them through to completion in new markets. In your role, you will ensure the team completes the work behind the strategic priorities set by leadership. Additionally, you’ll prioritize tasks, managing a complex schedule, ensuring deliverables are met across multiple work streams and being an effective cross functional leader.
In this role, you'll:
Execute program management functions to include project initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
Lead teams responsible for OSP and MxU construction and be accountable to monthly, quarterly, and annual production targets.
Lead teams responsible for proactive management of contracts, purchase orders, and material procurement.
Operate across internal GFiber groups and external organizations to ready and implement operational processes.
Lead process improvements that result in efficiency and efficacy gains throughout deployment and operations in the market(s).
Lead, coach and develop a team that delivers projects through strategic vendors.
Have the ability to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.
At a minimum we'd like you to have:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Telecommunications or a closely related field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of leadership experience in capital-project related industries such as: Telecommunications, Consulting, Oil and Gas.
5 years of leadership experience with direct reports delegating responsibilities, managing performance evaluations, and employee career management.
5 years of vendor management experience: managing complex project schedules, leading annual planning cycles, leading negotiations, developing and managing contracts, invoicing, budgeting, forecasting, project reporting (costs, status and risks) and procurement.
It's preferred if you have:
PMP or MBA or advanced degree.
5 years of experience with fiber network deployments, including experience with constructing new outside and inside plant fiber infrastructure.
5 years of experience with FTTH infrastructure.
Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and database management including AutoCAD, ESRI, and/or shape file functionality.
Experience working with network drawings, route maps and scopes of work and interpreting fiber test results and auditing projects for compliance with scopes of work.
Experience in operational improvement and process/workflow development.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $136,000 - $169,000 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
