Hallmark’s Global Visual Merchandising Studio is a strategic and dedicated studio made up of graphic and production designers, visual merchandisers, fixture and environmental designers, and writers. We create memorable in-store experiences; environmental signage, wayfinding, and fixture solutions for retailers including Hallmark Gold Crown, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, and grocery, around the globe. We deliver a shopper experience that is easy to shop, showcases innovation and is unmistakably, recognizably Hallmark.

WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

The Visual Merchandising Designer is responsible for end-to-end development of merchandising solutions. Working with the Visual Merchandising Manager, the Visual Merchandising Designer develops highly strategic, flexible, captivating visual display solutions based upon industry "best practices" to implement across the many sizes and layouts of store spaces. The designer must have the ability to produce a variety of innovative solutions in support of new product launches, seasonal programs, trade events, and new store development across the global market. The work must enhance and support specific product offerings, but also convey a compelling and consistent consumer experience in line with overall brand and retail strategies. This individual is responsible for providing total solution output across all phases of workflow, producing presentation materials, conceptual sketches, digital renderings, and physical sets. This role requires strong creative design skills, visual merchandising expertise (design principles), product presentation techniques, and the ability to understand and apply retailer specific strategy and requirements, consumer insights, category expertise, understanding of the retail environment, operational acumen, fixture knowledge, and awareness of industry trends.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years’ professional work experience

  • At least 3 years of in-store experience design, visual merchandising, interior design and/or store management experience

  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

  • Experience using a Mac-based platform

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A portfolio that highlights visual merchandising display and environmental/experience design principles

  • A portfolio that showcases a variety of conceptual and execution level presentation materials, sketches, digital renderings, planograms, photos of physical displays

  • Bachelor's Degree in Retail Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, Industrial Design or Textiles

  • Corporate Visual Merchandising experience

  • Outstanding creative and conceptual visual merchandising skills

  • Strong aesthetic and design background

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of current retail industry and trends

  • Confidently and articulately present visual merchandising solutions (written & verbal)

  • Work productively in fast-paced, dynamic environment with high degree of autonomy

  • Exceptional organizational skills/ ability to effectively manage multiple tasks

  • Proactively seeks opportunities to improve work processes to improve efficiency and quality of deliverables

  • Flexible, adept collaborator

  • Strong leadership capabilities

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • This is a hybrid role, working about 50% onsite at headquarters and 50% offsite (as needed)

  • This is a progressive role that will be filled at the level based on the skills and experience of the selected candidate
