Debris Removal/General Labor (Maintenance Worker 1)

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities:

Employee applicants will physically remove unwanted waste materials, such as construction rubble, tree limbs, house debris and other disaster related debris from a designated affected area.

Employees will use hand tools, other machinery like saws, shovels, trimmers, Etc. and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Tasks may include sorting, loading, hauling and cleaning up of work sites.

Other key Responsibilities:

Manually gathering debris like wood, metal, plastic and other waste materials from a site.

Categorizing different types of debris for proper disposal in compliance with local regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

Must have physical strength/stamina, always adhere to company policies,

Team player and good communication skills, ability to work under various weather conditions.

Safety is a fundamental aspect of all our work/job related activities.

Work involves assisting with cutting and/or re-digging drainage grades, cleaning culverts, operating mowers and string trimmers and hauling material in dump trucks.

Load sand, dirt, brush, debris, etc., onto trucks and clean debris from storm drains.

Required:

Must be legally authorized to work.

Must have applicable forms of identification.

Appropriate attire for the maintenance work to be conducted.

Background requirements:

Candidates must pass a Drug Screen and Background Check. Any criminal convictions and/or criminal activities identified, because of these checks, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. However, due to the nature of the employer's business, company policy requires that candidates, with specific classes/types of convictions, cannot be considered for employment.
