CAE USA INC Java Software Engineer - Crew Manager Team in Krakow, Poland

About This Role

Crew Manager Team works across the airline crewing industry domain, providing a real-time system for planning, scheduling, and tracking thousands of crew members. It ensures that crews are legal, experienced, and having enough rest to safely conduct a flight. It solves complex optimization problems to bring crew back on track after major schedule changes – like volcanos, hurricanes etc. This position will provide the candidate with the opportunity to work with a variety of people at all levels of management across the enterprise. Candidates without long commercial experience and with sharp mind are welcome.  The candidate must demonstrate very strong problem solving and time management skills willing to help our customer across the world.

               

Crew Area  is   a place in which you will find extremely collaborative team as well as the challenges arising from the nature of the product. Senior JAVA developer  will be responsible for designing, coding, testing and debugging new functionality added to complex software solution as well as supporting team of Architects with future technical vision of a product roadmap. May assist in preparation of software documentation, design and build software prototypes.

The role we are offering you:

  • Is responsible for developing, coding, testing and debugging new highly complex software solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity .

  • Analyzes, debugs and/or assists in problem solving in both development and production environments

  • Understands, interprets and translates business requirements into the necessary designs and documentation

  • Assures code quality and adherence to coding standards on projects

  • Takes part in the Agile iterations planning and demonstrations sessions

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Excellent Java knowledge and programming skills

  • Experience with writing unit/ functiona l /integrations tests (JUnit and similar)

  • Experience wit h containerization technologies (Docker, OpenShift)

  • Experience in working with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure)

  • Good communication skills in English, written and verbal

  • Commitment to achieving projects goals and orientation to improve quality

  • Java 17 , Spring framework, Hibernate, Oracle, SQL , Kafka

  • Very good interpersonal skills

    In addition, the following experience is nice to have :

  • Understanding of full-text search engines (ElasticSearch/Solr)

  • Experience in work with distributed systems (event-driven communication), microservices architecture

  • Experience with monolith to microservices migrations

  • Experience in Agile Development

    Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering or equivalent

Location:

  • Kraków, Tischnera Office.

  • We operate a hybrid working approach ( at least 2-3 days a week from office)
