Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum):
$33.090 - $42.700 - $52.310

What You Will Do
Under the direction of the Infection Control Manager, the Reusable Medical Equipment Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the cleaning, reprocessing, maintenance, and inventory management of reusable medical equipment within the healthcare facility. This role provides technical expertise to ensure that all reusable equipment is processed according to industry standards and regulations to maintain patient safety and support the delivery of high-quality care.
Required Qualifications
3 Years sterile processing experience, or related field.
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) - The Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution OR Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) OR Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) -REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 Years infection control experience.

Essential Functions
Regulatory and SafetySystematically plans and evaluates staff development in response to changing regulations and infection control standards.Develops and implements policies and procedures for the reprocessing, storage, and handling of reusable medical equipment.
Content ExpertDemonstrate thorough knowledge of equipment used in hospital setting, and how to access cleaning recommendations.Attend and participate as a member of the hospital Reusable Medical Equipment (RME) CommitteeProvide input, feedback, and participate in goal setting for the RME committee, and assists in the development of action plans
Collaboration, Coordination, Teamwork, and AdvocacyCoordinate with various departments to ensure the safe, timely, and efficient processing of medical equipment.Independently identifies problems and takes appropriate actions to improve operations and/or quality of care.Communicate issues and concerns to unit Manager, as appropriate.
Outcomes ManagementConduct regular audits and quality control checks to ensure compliance with standards, policies, and protocols.Ensure that all safety and infection control guidelines are followed for the hospital.Serves as a partner to the Interprofessional/Professional Development Team to enhance coordination of RME practices across settings and among hospital staff.
Education/Professional DevelopmentTrain and supervise staff on proper cleaning techniques and the use of equipment.Oversee hospital competency assessment activities related to reusable medical equipment, including complex RME reprocessing.Stay current with industry best practices (e.g. AAMI standards, The Joint Commission, CDPH, CMS, etc.)
Professional AccountabilityAdjusts priorities/work schedule to meet the needs of the hospital.Uses resources in a cost effective manner.Completes delegated duties within specified time frames.Submit written recommendations for cost containment/improved efficiency.Willingly accepts additional assignments and remains flexible with work assignments.
