Title and Summary

Electrical/ Critical Building Services Engineer-1

1- Overview

Vocalink Mastercard are looking for an experienced electrically biased Building Services Engineer to join its long-standing Data Centre Engineering team at Loughton Essex.

2- Role

The role is to help ensure the Data Centre Engineering Infrastructure, which supports the company’s core business is fit for purpose and able to deliver its 24/7 services without failure. This is achieved by being part of a shift based team of in house Engineers providing hands on expertise in operation, maintenance, installation and fault rectification in the engineering infrastructure to ensure business availability on a 24 hour 365 day basis.

3- All About You

Required:

• Proficient in a range of electrical installation work including but not limited to SWA, singles, containment systems including metal conduit and trunking and terminating/ second fixing point of use outlets

• Fault finding experience in electrical installations and HVAC systems

• Previous experience of working as part of a 24/7 shift pattern

• Completed a time served apprenticeship in Electrical installation/ engineering, City & Guilds, ONC or HNC level qualification

• Experience of building maintenance work

• Have sound communication skills and be able to talk at a technical and non-technical level to senior levels when required

• Be capable of working under own initiative and take the effective course of action when under pressure

• Be a good team player and motivator

• Be quick to learn and willing to attend training courses if required

• Be willing to work within a 24/7 shift-based system including unsociable working hours and be flexible within that system if required

• Potentially participate in the standby/callout system

• Must be able to achieve Government site level security clearance

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a critical environment

• Electrical inspection and testing qualified

• Have a thorough understanding of PC based systems covering planned maintenance, fire detection and extinguishant systems, building management control systems and system interfaces, bespoke software used for monitoring and testing

• Be PC literate with good knowledge of WORD and EXCEL with ability to learn Change Management systems.
