FLEXION INC UX Researcher/Design Focused Strategist in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Description UX Researcher/Strategist Design Focus - REMOTE Why you want to work at Flexion: Flexion is looking for an empathetic, design-minded strategist who thrives at finding answers to business problems to join our Flexion team in supporting a large agile government initiative in the Maryland/Virginia/Washington DC area. This work will be done remotely. We are seeking someone who is both creative and intuitive in assessing problems and uncovering long term solutions. At Flexion (an agile software company that\'s been delivering excellence for over 24 years), our company culture is built on autonomy, trust, and transparency. We empower teams to remain autonomous and self-directed by hiring people who can solve complex problems by functioning collaboratively-this means lending a hand and flexing your multi-skilled muscles (research, design, content, business analysis, information architecture, etc.) as needed. Every member within a cross-functional team is a leader who takes responsibility for the entire team\'s success, which mirrors the company\'s overall approach of low hierarchy. What the job looks like: In this role, you\'ll use an innovation mentality to help determine the viability, impact, and value of many different kinds of digital product and service ideas within the federal government. This involves deep user and internet research, coupled with the ability to ask the right questions at the right time. You\'ll be assessing things like the overall reach of the ideas and who they would benefit, what similar efforts are already underway, where potential points of failure lie, etc. Then you\'ll create recommendations and design exploration to be presented to program management, influencing whether the project should move forward. You and the team would be tackling several of these ideas at a time, arriving at answers within weeks, not months. You should be comfortable using both quantitative and qualitative methods to drive insights, remaining keenly aware of personal bias or assumptions. You can naturally connect the dots and determine patterns where others only see disparate information. In a fast-moving project, you can balance the need to go deep versus going wide, directing efforts where they are most effective and pivoting when necessary. You don\'t create documents and prototypes for the sake of producing them (though you\'re certainly adept in those skills); instead, you focus on efforts that move conversations forward. You should expect and be comfortable with ambiguity (both in ideas and processes), but seek to clarify wherever possible. * Lead research and strategy to vet new ideas for technology innovations and make recommendations about whether ideas should be pursued * Establish strong working relationships and trust with various agency teams at all levels of government, navigating political landmines with tact and diplomacy * Possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills * Experience designing and facilitating user research sessions * Experience with user research tools such as Optimal Workshop and Usertesting.com * Experience examining/synthesizing research and insight development and communicating those findings to team members and stakeholders * Experience using prototyping and modeling tools such as paper, Mural, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, LucidCharts, etc. * Familiarity with design systems and pattern libraries * Lead and facilitate content audits, heuristic reviews, user journeys, card sorting, creating personas, modeling workflows, information architecture. * Effectively communi To view the full job description please use the link below. https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=YmJnZW5lcmljLjQwMTA4Ljg3NzBAZmxleGlvbmNvbXAuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Apply Online: https://www.aplitrak.com/?adid=YmJnZW5lcmljLjQwMTA4Ljg3NzBAZmxleGlvbmNvbXAuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t
