    This Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is for a vacancy located in our Mandeville Behavioral Health Clinic. Please see the Examples of Work below for additional information on this position.

This position is in a Career Progression Series and may be filled as either an LPN 1, 2 or 3, depending on the applicant’s level of experience. Please note that there is only one vacancy to be filled.

This position may be filled as a Probational Appointment. Applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period that may be anywhere between 6 months and 24 months.

Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant’s level of experience. Below is a list of the pay range(s) for the position(s). Note: The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:

  • LPN 1: $19.48/hour minimum - $28.90/hour maximum

  • LPN 2: $20.84/hour minimum - $30.92/hour maximum

  • LPN 3: $22.30/hour minimum - $33.08/hour maximum

    An additional premium pay of $1.00/hour may be applied hour for hour working in direct patient care.

    Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title and NOT the maximum amount usually offered to new hires.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice practical nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Concepts

Function of Work:

To provide basic nursing care to patients/clients in stable conditions and in predictable situations in accordance with the Professional Nurses Practice Act.

Entry.

Supervision Received:

Close from a Registered Nurse or Practical Nurse of a higher level.

Supervision Exercised:

May exercise functional supervision over paraprofessional nursing personnel.

Location of Work:

Statewide--health care facilities; correctional facilities.

Differs from Practical Nurse--Licensed, 2 by the absence of journeyman level assignments and independent performance of duties.

Examples of Work

This nursing position provides direct nursing care to clients receiving treatment for mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or medical illness, and is responsible for performing individualized direct client care. This position performs standard nursing services, which may include the following: administering prescribed medications, performing injections, maintaining documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), administering screenings, tests, and other required labs, conducting assessments and screens for new clients, participating as an active member of an inter-disciplinary Treatment Team , etc .
