This position will lead quality assurance activities for the execution of the BWRX-300 project in Canada. This will include interacting with customers, regulatory agencies, partners as well as GEH Advanced Nuclear organizations to ensure project activities meet quality requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead Quality activities interfacing with project partners at Darlington Nuclear Generation Power Plant site for GEH scope of work.
Develop and implement a quality assurance program to support an integrated project delivery model.
Responsible for the development and implementation of project quality control plans, supporting procedures and project execution infrastructure for associated activities.
Represent GEH as the main point of contact for the Quality organization, interface between customer and internal partners, lead customer quality meetings, and on-site project oversight and execution.
Lead the execution of the project oversight program including the performance of surveillances, supporting internal and external audits, performance of root cause analyses and non-conformance assessments.
Review of condition reports and key performance indicator information to identify trends and develop recommendations for performance improvement.
Provide training and mentorship to individuals in quality related activities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Minimum of 7 years of related professional work experience in the nuclear industry, with a solid understanding of nuclear project requirements.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in proven functional leadership experience in medium to large, complex nuclear projects..
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ability to work at the customer site 5 days a week to support GEH required project execution activities.
Desired Characteristics:
Ability to work at the customer site 5 days a week to support GEH required project execution activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of CSA N286-12, CSA N299, CSA N285 and other CSA standards, ASME NQA-1, and ISO 9001.
Knowledge of nuclear industry technologies (commercial light water, advanced and small modular reactors).
Experience working at customer sites, preferably nuclear power generating stations.
Proven experience leading Root / Apparent Cause Analyses and ability to qualify as an analysis leader.
Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative, teamwork skills and ability to take ownership and accountability for overall project quality.
Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills, communicates messages clearly and concisely with the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information / ability to sift through complex information and focus on critical few priorities.
Experience interacting with senior leadership at customer and/or regulatory organizations.
Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment.
Experience with problem solving methodologies, Lean and other related quality process improvement methodologies.
Ability and willingness to support travel to other GEH, customer, and supplier facilities/sites.
