Lincoln Technical Institute Externship/Internship Coordinator-Part-time in Melrose Park, Illinois
Lincoln Tech in Melrose Park, IL is looking for a part-time Externship/Internship Coordinator to organize, assign, track, and report all activities related to the externship or internship program. Facilitate the student's transition from completing class work to working within externship or internship programs to graduation in preparation for full-time placement. This position must evaluate and assist in the resolution of student issues and problems and take appropriate action to the satisfaction of the student and in compliance with the policies, procedures and legal requirements of the Company and/or regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities for an Externship/Internship Coordinator
Promote the externship or internship program
Support the relevant policies and procedures to ensure a quality learning experience is provided at the externship or internship sites
Identify externship or internship sites
Ensure SME evaluations of new sites (prior to students attending site) to ensure the site meets Lincoln standards
Coordinate the selection process of placing students at externship or internship sites
Ensure that externship agreements are properly maintained and communicated
Maintain on-going communication with both the students and externship or internship sites. Regularly evaluate those sites
Maintain externship or internship records; continuously audit all records and validate information
Make extern site visits during each externship or internship
Prepare regular reports

Requirements for an Externship/Internship Coordinator
Strong communication skills and the ability to foster others to learn
Demonstrate effective presentation and interpersonal skills
Always demonstrate personal and shop safety
Good understanding of the academic curriculum and the ability to accurately assess student performance
High School diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (excluding teaching experience)
The necessary academic credentials, certifications, licenses, and work-related experience are mandated by the company, state, accreditation, and any other regulatory agencies that monitor compliance
Preferred :
Strong computer skills
Instructor and/or mentoring experience
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment that requires normal safety precautions. The work is sedentary , and typically employees sit comfortably to do the work. There may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items such as paper, books, or notebooks.
