Job Title: EHS AssistantJob Description
As an EHS Assistant, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe and compliant work environment. You will conduct training programs, perform risk assessments, and manage incident investigations. Additionally, you will provide HR support related to health and safety, ensuring clear communication and coordination across departments.
Responsibilities
Create and update health and safety policies and procedures in line with company objectives and legal requirements.
Ensure policies are communicated effectively to all employees.
Issue LOTO sets and train employees on their use.
Update Workers Compensation and DART information.
Conduct annual hearing and blood lead testing.
Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees, covering topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment, and emergency procedures.
Conduct regular workplace risk assessments to identify and evaluate potential hazards.
Implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
Investigate workplace incidents and near misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
Maintain accurate records of incidents and near misses.
Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety standards and best practices.
Assist with HR processes related to health and safety, such as employee communication, grievance handling, and disciplinary action.
Provide HR support for health and safety matters, such as interpreting policies, resolving conflicts, and addressing employee concerns.
Track attendance and prepare disciplinary notices.
Perform I-9 verifications and data collection approval backup.
Serve as a liaison between different departments and external stakeholders on health and safety matters.
Maintain clear and effective communication with employees regarding health and safety issues.
Assist with HR processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee record management.
Handle employees' HR related and payroll questions.
Maintain client communication.
Coordinate the interviewing, screening, recruitment, and appointments for the Branch Manager.
Conduct new hire orientations.
Assist with the identification, selection, and interviewing of candidates; support new hire onboarding.
Essential Skills
Proven health and safety experience.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to detect potential hazards and effectively solve issues as they arise.
Experience conducting new hire safety orientations.
Knowledge of safety programs and data entry.
HR administration and I-9 verification experience.
Familiarity with ISO standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- HR and EHS experience.
Work Environment
You will primarily work in an office setting. The role involves frequent communication and coordination with various departments and external stakeholders. The work environment can be fast-paced and may require managing multiple tasks simultaneously. The ability to stay organized and maintain clear communication is essential.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $27.00/hr.
