We are seeking a highly motivated Data Governance Manager to join our team. The Data Governance Manager will report to the Director, Enterprise Data Governance and partner closely with the Data Quality Manager, 1st Line Risk Management, and the business. The Data Governance Manager will lead the ongoing management of a mature data governance framework for the corporation, ensuring continuous improvement, automation, accountability and compliance with corporate standards, industry frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

The Data Governance Manager will:

  • Lead a team of Data Governance Analysts in the ongoing management of a mature data governance framework.

  • Drive continuous advancements in data risk measurement methods, with a focus on increasing automation and accountability.

  • Collaborate with business partners to deploy best practices and innovative solutions to improve data quality.

  • Oversee the successful implementation and continuous improvement of a data model.

  • Manage and mentor staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

  • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

  • Must have 10+ years of experience with data governance, data management, and data quality.

  • Experience in the banking industry.  

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and staff, including business and technical teams. A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

  • Ability to exercise independent judgment, effectively prioritize, and execute tasks under pressure.

  • Ability to mitigate risk for the area of responsibility.

  • Excellent management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to set goals and ensure the team meets high-quality work standards.

  • Ability to develop resolutions to complex problems requiring creativity.

  • Uses judgment within broadly defined policies and practices.

    Location:

    This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of four days per week in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

    The Zions Technology Center is a 400,000-square-foot technology campus in Midvale, Utah. Located on the former Sharon Steel Mill superfund site, the sustainably built campus will be the company’s primary technology and operations center. This modern and environmentally friendly technology center will enable Zions to continue to compete for the best technology talent in the state while providing team members with an exceptional work environment with features such as:
