Apply for Job Job ID340414 LocationTwin Cities Job FamilyAcademic Full/Part TimeFull-Time Regular/TemporaryRegular Job Code9546 Employee ClassAcad Prof and Admin Add to Favorite Jobs Email this Job About the Job This postdoctoral NIH-funded position will investigate the pathophysiology and therapy of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) with a focus on chronic GVHD (cGVHD), the major cause of morbidity and mortality after hematopoietic transplants. Our studies were foundational for the two currently FDA approved drugs to treat refractory cGVHD. This project will utilize novel murine strains and cGVHD to test cell infusion and drug therapies. State-of-the-art assays including single cell RNA-seq, metabolomics and metabolic function, isotopomer tracing, and regulatory T cell gene editing, amongst others. The successful candidate will have a strong background in immunology, interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment at the University of Minnesota (UMN) Pediatric Blood & Marrow Transplant & Cellular Therapy Division. The UMN Program is one of the largest and is the longest standing in the world, recognized internationally for innovative clinical and translational research. Responsibilities (Must total 100%) 50% chronic GVHD, pulmonary function studies; immune assays, as needed tissue organoid culture 30% mouse bone marrow transplantation acute GVHD studies: This includes administering proteins antibodies, cells or pharmacological agents if needed; immune assays; acquisition, freezing, cutting, staining of tissues; optimize assays or stating of tissues as needed 10% data analysis/reports/assistance with manuscripts 5% review/track census of breeding mice that have been assigned 5% lab maintenance Qualifications Required Qualifications: Successful applicants will have an Ph.D. and/or M.D. and a demonstrated track record of productive research. Expertise in murine immunology or a related field are required. Candidates must have excellent communication and organizational skills, creative approaches to experimental design and be able to work collaboratively.
