Intermountain Health Regional Aviation Maintenance Supervisor in Moab, Utah

Job Description:

Provides daily leadership for the aircraft maintenance team. The incumbent is accountable for specifications issued by the Federal Aviation Administration and identifying, formulating, and implementing aviation maintenance processes, policies, and procedures. The incumbent also schedules maintenance events.

Job Essentials

  • Schedules and coordinates daily aircraft maintenance at the aircraft base and satellite locations.

  • Mentors and instructs other mechanics creating a team environment.

  • Actively participates in maintenance projects and inspections on the aircraft with the maintenance team.

  • Schedules, coordinates, and ensures scheduled maintenance and inspections are completed in a timely manner.

  • Documents, maintains, and completes aircraft records in accordance with FAA and Intermountain requirements.

  • Tracks aircraft inspection, component due times, and completion of tasks in computer database.

  • Conducts periodic audits of the aircraft and engine records.

  • Maintains company-owned special tools and equipment in good working order. Ensures calibration requirements are met.

  • Delegates special projects to the maintenance team (e.g., organizing and cleaning the hangar and work areas).

  • Oversees the mechanic on-call schedule to ensure adequate on-call coverage.

  • Oversees the mechanics daily schedule to ensure the man power needs are met while managing overtime.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of trends and new developments in the aviation field.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Federal Aviation Airframe & Power Plant license.

  • Five years aviation maintenance experience.

  • Working knowledge of both fixed wing and rotor wing aircraft and respective turbine engines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Multiple Aircraft Qualified with Factory Training on Fixed wing (Pilatus PC-12) and Helicopter (Bell 407).

  • Structural Sheet metal experience.

  • Advanced Troubleshooting Training / Experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others requiring the employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information.

  • Support the weight of aviation parts and equipment while transporting it. Push or pull portable equipment, including heavy items.

  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer parts, tools, and equipment. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

  • May be expected to stand or sit in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

  • Ascend and descend stairs to and from and off and on aircraft.

  • Raise or lower an object from one level to another.

  • Operate aviation maintenance equipment, tools, computers, and devices requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

  • See and read various monitors and documents.

  • Transport oneself from place to place.

  • Move around on hands and knees, including in small confined spaces within aircraft. Lower body by bending at the hips and the knees or to place body weight on one or both knees.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$36.34 - $55.30
