Walton County Board of Commissioners Temporary Flagger in Monroe, Georgia
DEPARTMENT: Public Works
ENTRY SALARY: $18.29 per hour, no benefits
JOB SUMMARY: The position performs flagging and controlling traffic during paving and grass cutting operations. Performs manual work functions associated with maintenance and repair of county streets/roads, drainage systems, and right-of-way areas and other areas of assignment. Performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed. Duties may vary according to job assignment. Follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites. Places signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices. Operates non-CDL pickups and flatbed trucks and miscellaneous hand-tools in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures according to County standards. Responds to emergency calls during inclement weather, or other emergency situations. Monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals. Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a Flagging Certification.
