Chemours is seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer to join our growing Thermal & Specialized Solutions (TSS) Technical Service team! This position will directly support stationary air-conditioning and refrigeration (ACR) equipment manufacturers, aftermarket customers, and end-users in the implementation and use of our next generation Opteon ™ refrigerant solutions. This position will report to the Global Technical Services Manager – TSS and is based out of our Monterrey, MX location.
This highly visible, key role will provide direct technical service and product support from both our Monterrey, MX location and at onsite customer locations. This critical position will support key customer accounts throughout Mexico and Latin America. Travel requirements approximately 50%.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop, validate, and transfer robust analytical/sampling methods for implementation and testing at customer sites
Diagnose, troubleshoot, design/prepare lab setups to help resolve ongoing customer issues
Managing product quality or quality related systems
Knowledge or the desire to learn fluorochemical science and related application technologies.
Skills in data analysis; able to analyze data independently, draw statistically based conclusions and determine next steps.
Direct interaction with customers, operations, or their staffs to answer questions/solve problems.
Interaction with trade associations and the ability to learn a variety of industry standards, codes, and regulations relevant for successful product adoption and implementation within the stationary ACR segment.
Ability to self-manage time and resources to get results in the quickest and least costly fashion within limits dictated by maintaining safe operations.
Overseeing safety audit activities related to ensuring successful delivery of refrigerants to OEM and aftermarket customers
Telemetry installs and bulk refrigerant system technical support
Support regional sales team through aftermarket and OEM training
The following is required for this role:
Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
10+ years of work experience in with refrigerants and/or air-conditioning and refrigeration systems
Strong understanding or experience in refrigeration requirements, design, or chemistry
Experience managing product quality or quality related systems and/or working directly with operations, customers and/or distribution.
Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
The following is preferred for this role:
Demonstrated experience with fluorochemical handling preferred.
Demonstrated experience with bulk chemical transfers preferred.
