Position Purpose

Ensure inventory reports & general ledger accuracy and integrity, the on-time inventory weekly forecast and scorecard.Coordinate the external and internal audit. Supervise and coordinate the inventory senior accountants for MX GAAP & US GAAP closing and daily activities. Review journal entries are properly documented and prepared. DC & Stores physical inventories coordination & reconciliation.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Coordinate US period and Mexico statutory closing activities with the team. Review of variances and explanations in financial statements. Also, reviews corporate accounting criteria is followed.

  • Review & approve all manual journal entries regarding to In Country/Domestic/DI purchases, inventory return, devaluations, reserves, accruals, reclasifications & adjustments are properly documented and prepared. JE's Tie Out (for MX & US books)

  • Supervise, Analyze & review Shrink results at a store level (store packets) and proper communication to Manager, Directors & VPs. validate results are according to trend & plan in order to detect any possible system impact or operative procedures opportunities that could cause company shrink to increase. Participation and testing on physical inventories

  • Ensure internal & external audit requirements deadlines are met & coordinate DC and Stores physical inventories with auditors.

  • Support the Manager's Reviews & analisis of all inventory accounts reconciliations; proper documentation and support needed according to policy. Inventory forecast support to the Inventory Manager

  • Other ad hoc reports and analysis

Education & Experience

Level of Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.

Area of Study: Accounting, Finance, Economics or Financial Systems

Years of Experience: Five to seven years.

Type of Experience: Financial analysis, corporate finance and planning

Special Certifications or Technical Skills: Strong analytical midnset; excellent communication/presentation skills; well versed in financial modelling; advanced Excel and Access; very well organized and capable to work in an international/multicultural environment; ability to develop decision making skills.

Other/Preferred: Strong work ethics, flexibility/adaptability, works well under pressure. SQL queries and data warehouse knowledge are an advantage.
