Refrigeration Technician

Job Description

Join our team as a Refrigeration Technician responsible for maintaining and ensuring the proper functioning of refrigeration systems in a food manufacturing facility. This role involves operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, ammonia refrigeration, and HVAC utility equipment. The position requires transferring between the facility and the distribution center across the street.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper functioning of refrigeration systems, steam generation, compressed air, hot water, treated water, glycol, and other systems.

  • Respond to emergency calls regarding refrigeration on the production floor.

  • Ensure continued production operation as it relates to refrigeration equipment, utilities, and HVAC equipment.

  • Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, adjust, and/or repair utility systems equipment as problems/deviations occur.

  • Perform pipefitting and plumbing repairs.

  • Repair/rebuild pumps, valves, regulators, traps, fans, etc.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • CIRO certification required within two years of service (training provided).

  • Experience in ammonia refrigeration and boilers preferred.

  • Willingness to participate on a HAZMAT team.

  • Ability to observe good manufacturing practices (GMPs).

  • Legible handwriting and attention to detail.

  • Basic reading, writing, mathematical, and computer skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to maintain neat and accurate documentation.

  • Physical ability to climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certifications such as CERO, CARO, LLAR are a plus.

  • Experience with steam, boilers, chillers, and EPA license.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 2-2-3 schedule from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, providing a 3-day weekend every other week and 15 days off per month. The role involves working in a food manufacturing facility with frequent transfers between the main facility and the distribution center. Employees must adhere to safety standards and good manufacturing practices. The work involves physical activity, including climbing stairs and standing for extended periods.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mount Sterling, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $59280.00 - $59280.00/yr.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:

Schedule: 12 hour 2nd shift 2/2/3 schedule 6:00pm-6:00am

Pay: $29.50 - $33.00. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
