Job Purpose
The Sr. Business Intelligence & Insights Analyst delivers key business, sales, and marketing performance insights through quantitative and qualitative analysis, reporting, and data visualization. The Sr. Analyst partners with stakeholders across the Sales organization to develop dashboards and analyze complex campaign and sales data to provide key insights on business performance.
Essential Responsibilities
Consults with Distribution stakeholders to understand complex business problems and identify sales and marketing opportunities. Recommends best practices, process improvements, and new solutions based on analytical findings.
Analyzes complex and disparate data sources to extract trends and translate them into actionable insights, solutions, and reports.
Manages projects from beginning-to-end; gathering requirements, cleaning data, designing, and deploying visualization solutions.
Locates and unifies data from disparate sources; manipulates, cleans, and prepares data for analysis utilizing advanced analytics tactics and tools, including Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
Identifies, researches, and resolves potential issues with data and platforms.
Expertly uses statistical concepts and multiple measurement tools and techniques to analyze data and create visualizations.
Applies strategic thinking and understands strategic and tactical frameworks within the Jackson organization.
Employs data storytelling techniques to holistically describe sales and marketing performance and provide strategic recommendations for continued growth and improvement.
Transforms data into clear and concise presentations with an emphasis on storytelling.
Participates actively in internal/client meetings, confidently offering ideas and suggestions supported by data and analytical findings. Facilitates and leads discussions to drive and deliver results as appropriate.
Owns major deliverables, ensuring analysis and reporting is high quality and provides business value.
Conducts internal and external analytics projects upon request.
Recommends and implements new procedures/controls to assure accuracy, efficiency, and improved process management.
Builds and maintains relationships with internal and externals contacts.
Serves a mentor to Business Intelligence & Insights Analysts; teaching them best practices and reviewing their analyses and projects as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of Distribution’s organization, structure, and products or has the ability to gain the necessary knowledge within six months of hire.
Broad knowledge of annuities products preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects requiring analysis of data from multiple departments and sources.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and consult with individuals at all levels within the organization.
Ability to analyze, interpret, and present complex concepts to all members of the organization.
Exceptional Microsoft Office and Excel skills. Advanced knowledge of Tableau, SQL, and other relevant systems.
Ability to adhere to enterprise data governance standards and work with confidential information.
Ability to analyze 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party research.
Ability to prioritize projects, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
Strong research, analytical, and data mining skills.
Must be detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver solutions derived from data analysis.
Strong ability to synthesize implications from data.
Highly proficient in the creation of spreadsheets and data visualizations for modeling and trend analysis.
Ability to mentor and train less experienced analysts.
Solid understanding of financial concepts and investment products.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
Master's Degree preferred.
3+ years of data analytics, business intelligence, or equivalent experience required.
Financial services and/or insurance industry experience preferred.
Experience with Tableau, Power BI, and similar tools required.
