JOB REQUIREMENTS: Floating Press Operator - 12 Hour Days - R6162 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties are normal for this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these duties; however, it is not an exclusive or all-inclusive list. Other duties may be assigned. * Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures. * Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines. * Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems. * Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements. * Determine the best manufacturing method to produce product efficiently and effectively. * Perform make ready and operate offset printing press efficiently. * Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned press. * Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product. * Complete required quality inspections and paperwork. * Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance. * Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding work area. * Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands. * Must be qualified to operate Toppy skid turner. * Provide informal leadership to the Feeder Operator/Second Pressman to accomplish production objectives. * Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements. * Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives. * Perform other duties as assigned by management. Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed. * Ability to effectively work in teams. * Ability to work in a production-based environment with moving equipment and people. * Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles. * Press experience preferred.
