Actalent Infusion Nurse in New Lenox, Illinois
Infusion NurseJob Description
Assess and monitor patients using appropriate technical skills under the direction and supervision of a physician.
Implement plan of care in accordance with established standards, guidelines, protocols, and procedures based on actual and potential problems.
Responsible for all aspects of patient care specific to infusion therapy.
Maintain efficient and appropriate patient flow.
Demonstrate knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports and maintain central venous access devices as well as alternate delivery systems.
Document all elements of care.
Communicate all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or mid-level provider.
Triage patient/family phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
Demonstrate awareness of community resources available to patients and assist with referrals if necessary.
Provide nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed.
Maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.
Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
Take vital signs and perform blood draws, using EMR and Clinical Trial Module.
Qualifications
Active RN License for Illinois
2-3 years of nursing experience
1 year of experience performing chemotherapy infusions
Clinical Research experience is a plus but not required
