BayCare Health Systems is currently seeking FEMA Project COPE - Crisis Counselor I to join our outstanding and compassionate team in Hernando County!

Location: Hernando County
Status: PRN - 9 Month Contract Exempt: No
Shift Hours: M - F hours Vary
Weekend Work: Occasional
On Call: No
The FEMA Project COPE - Crisis Counselor I is responsible for:
Working with individuals, families and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis interventions, public education, and linkage to needed referrals.
Representing the program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure the needs of the survivors are met.
Providing presentation to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills and stress management.
*Travel is required throughout the assigned county. Mileage reimbursement is provided at the federal rate.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with mental health and/or substance use related issues preferred.
Required Certification/License:
BLS (Basic Life Support) within 60 days
Driver's License
Required Education:
- High School Diploma/GED
