Job Description
Provide timely support for classroom pedagogy by responding to frequent support calls from classrooms; assisting with delivery and archiving of hybrid and in person learning, performing preventive maintenance on all technology; repairing and/or removing out of date or unserviceable equipment and/or coordinating repair or service calls with university approved vendors.

Knowledge, skills and abilities
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Digital Video switching, control system interfaces, Zoom and Web conferencing, some knowledge of pedagogical uses of classroom technology, and troubleshooting. AV/IT industry acumen. Some knowledge of digital signal processing of audio-visual equipment especially Crestron DMPS systems. Demonstrated ability to work closely with VOIP , lecture capture archiving, editing digital video, Roomview, DMPS tools, Zoom Dashboard, JAMF , VLAN’s, and WIFI . Demonstrated skill in usage and assistance with personal computers, Mac and PC laptops, All-in-Ones, and desktops. Effective oral and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills.

Some experience in supporting presentation and digital routing technology. Considerable experience in problem-solving and decision analysis (i.e. can differentiate between the need to take action and when to escalate an issue).

Some experience working with faculty, staff, and students in higher education environment. Considerable experience in supporting a multimedia/technology environment. Formal training in electronics related field. AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist ( CTS ) certificate.
Conditions of Employment
Working a typical forty-hour work week on the Norfolk Campus.
Annual Salary/Hourly Rate Salary commensurate with education and experience
