Stark State College Human Resources Assistant in North Canton, Ohio
Typical Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Location: Main Campus, North Canton The HR Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Human Resources department by managing daily operations and ensuring compliance with college policies and procedures. This position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to promoting a positive workplace environment. Typical Job Responsibilities Include: Benefits Administration Processes and enters benefit enrollments in the system the Council of Governments (COG) utilizes to process health, dental, and vision benefits. Coordinates Open Enrollment process. Processes COBRA notifications for exiting employees.Monitors and processes the employee tuition reimbursement program and instructional fee programs. Recruitment Assistance Assists in hiring process by coordinating job posting on the websites for adjunct hiring, reviewing resumes and setting up interviews. Ensures adjuncts are onboarded in the talent management system.Prepares paperwork required to place employees on payroll and ensures employees are entered timely into the Banner system. Processes personnel information forms and ensures proper approvals; disseminates approved forms. Records Management Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Maintains all I-9 documentation and verification updates. Keeps employee records up-to-date by processing employee status changes timely. Overall Department/College Support Serves as the United Way Coordinator for the College.Oversees student workers in the department.Assists HR team with various research projects, special events, and/or projects.Serves as the backup for the HR Administrative Assistant III To be considered you'll need the following: An Associate's degree with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience preferably in human resources. Experience with an ERP system is preferred; prior work in higher education is a plus.
