Expeditor

We are looking for an Expeditor to be situated at either our Peterborough or Oakville, Ontario site. BWXT NEC's Fuel Handling and Engineered Solutions group is involved in the design, manufacture, development, testing, parts supply, and service of on-power refueling, reactor maintenance, and nuclear medicine delivery tooling sold around the world. We are the original designer of the automated systems that allow 24/7 on power refueling of CANDU reactors and aim to solve some of the Nuclear Industry’s most challenging problems. Today, BWXT’s equipment is being used in most of the nuclear power plants in Canada and is critical to delivering carbon free energy production and lifesaving medical isotopes.

JOB SUMMARY:

You are enthusiastic and an independent thinker who is able to manage unpredictable situations. You must be able to be proactive, be organized and resourceful while maintaining an adaptable and positive service attitude. An Expeditor executes a broad variety of tasks and is involved in several aspects of the business. Acting in a key role while supporting the overall Procurement and Supplier Oversight team, this position reports to the Strategic Supply Manager. Duties will include a wide range of order tracking/expediting activities.

This position can be located at either our Peterborough or Oakville, ON facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ + Expedite materials to meet production schedule.

  • Ensure lead times are met with suppliers on materials required for the production schedule.

  • Maintain up to date order status (in ERP system) for assigned orders.

  • Timely internal communication regarding potential material shortages that will impact production.

  • Proactively identify potential delays and take necessary actions to minimize their impact on production schedules.

  • Seek continuous improvement to our programs and procedures.

  • Support the resolution of defective or unacceptable goods/documentation with internal stakeholders, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • In-depth knowledge of business office processes and practices acquired through a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including an understanding/knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Superior organizational skills, with a high attention to detail, commitment to process improvement and ability to multi-task.

  • Proven time management and organizational skills, ability to work well under pressure with tight timelines, experience dealing with multiple conflicting priorities and the know-how to prioritize effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or independently.

  • Proven problem solving skills.

  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 30% of the time (mostly day trips to GTA, southern, eastern Ontario).

The base salary range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000.00 and $96,000.00 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
