MECHANICAL DESIGN & SERVICE HVAC Commercial & Industrial Service Technician in OGDEN, Utah
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment promptly and effectively, including but not limited to; Roof Top / Package units, Split Systems, Air Handling Units, Heat Pumps, Chillers, Cooling Towers & Boilers with the ability to identify maintenance risks on equipment.
• Clean, adjust and repair systems, and perform warranty services.
• Critical thinking, and troubleshooting mindset is required.
• Layout, design, and install low voltage wiring.
• Repairing HVAC equipment requires physical strength and dexterity. Service technicians should be able to easily lift 50 pounds or more, and be able to carry and maneuver heavier items, either with help or appropriate assistance.
• Provide Excellent Customer Service and communication skills; it's important that service technicians fully understand the customers HVAC needs. Must be able to articulately and clearly share information with both the customer and coworkers.
• Comply with service standards, OSHA, work instructions and customers' requirements.
• Apply local HVAC codes in a practical manner on each customer site.
• Safe behavior and safety gear is always part of the scope. Whether the project is small or large in scale, safety is a constant concern. To minimize safety risks, a knowledge of safe work practices and methods is required. In addition, hard hats, safety glasses, steel toed shoes are to be utilized as necessary.
• Access to the roofs, sound understanding of fall protection is required. Also, knowledge of roof safety ("roping" ladders, staying clear of building roof edges, knowing when and how to "tie-off") is essential. A fear of heights is a conflict of the attributes necessary for this work.
• Power tools are a part of the trade. Therefore, an understanding of electricity and the proper use of power tools is required.
• Much of the work performed by the HVAC technician includes over-head work. The ability to raise items, over-head, and perform tasks such as working with a drill or hand tools is necessary.
