Opportunities for Otsego, Inc. Family Resource and Support Specialist in Oneonta, New York
Family Resource and Support Specialist Building Healthy Families (https://www.ofoinc.org/find-program/building-healthy-families/) is seeking conscientious and compassionate individuals to join our enthusiastic home visiting team. As Family Resource and Support Specialist you provide partnership to families during pregnancy and early childhood to assist with raising healthy, resilient children and navigating the changes and challenges of parenting.
Responsibilities include engaging eligible families in partnership and:
Offering individualized support and resources that are culturally respectful and responsive to family needs and interests
Sharing health and safety information, child development curricula, and enjoyable activities that strengthen families and support social-emotional wellness
Providing health and developmental assessments and linkages to additional supports as needed
Strengthening family connections to the community and social supports
Collaborating with community partners on task force committees and outreach events
This position works 40 hours/week and involves travel within Otsego County. The Building Healthy Families program at Opportunities for Otsego offers mileage reimbursement, scheduling autonomy, outstanding professional development opportunities, and a supportive team environment.
Qualifications:
Two years of college OR High School Diploma/HSED and equivalent experience/education in psychology, early childhood, social work, family services, or related field; experience working with or providing services to children and families and knowledge of infant and child development; ability to establish trusting relationships and accept individual differences; Infant Mental Health Endorsement preferred; valid New York State driver’s license and reliable vehicle; Spanish fluency a plus.
Pay Range Guide:
Standard Start Rate - education and experience meet job requirements
Advanced Start Rate - education and experience exceed job requirements (subject to approval)
