Power Plant Services Field Machinist in Oswego, Illinois
Summary
The Field Machinist will be required to travel across the United States to repair various equipment and machinery in the power generation industry. A Travel Field Machinist must be able to operate manual machining equipment like mills and lathes at a manufacturing site and be able to work long hours.
Role Overview:
Manage on-site equipment repair assignments to meet urgent customer needs.
Setup and operate manual machining equipment including: Lathes, Mills, and Grinders.
Inspect and ensure all work areas are clean daily.
Demonstrate best-in-class safety practices in all machine operations and activities.
Assist teammates with challenging jobs to support a collaborative, team-first environment.
Field Machinist will travel locally in state, or out-of-state.
Field Machinist must be willing to work a schedule indicated by your employer including: Long hours, Weekends, Holidays, and OT.

Success Criteria:
Demonstrated skills in operating manual machines to fulfill a variety of part repairs or product manufacturing assignments.
Willingness to work demanding work schedules to include seven days per week and up to 12 hours shifts.
Ability to understand and apply machining techniques, in a fast-paced environment, and be self-motivated.
Walking/Standing for a duration of 12 hours, ability to heavy lifting, troubleshoot and adjust machines as needed.
Experience in the use of precision measuring equipment.
Please note that this is not an entry-level position. Prior experience in field machining is required.
