    About the Position :

Provide 1 hour virtual and in-person therapy sessions to survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking. Provide supportive, trauma-informed, wellness, and empowerment services through individual and group modalities for youth/young adults & adults enrolled in OCO's SAF program. Provide clinical guidance in all direct-service matters. Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), and Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) are encouraged to apply. Individuals working towards licensure as a LMHC, LCSW, or LMSW are also encouraged to apply.

Full-Time - 37.5 Hours Per Week / 52 Weeks Per Year

Level 6

Monday through Friday: 8:30am to 4:30 pm

JOB SUMMARY

Provides supportive, trauma-informed, wellness and empowerment services through individual and group modalities for program participants. Assists with the coordination of activities and events to promote community engagement and support survivors to rebuild sustainable independence. Provide direct services to youth/young adults & adults, according to OCO’s service delivery standards, in OCO offices and SAF’s domestic violence shelter. Collaborate with the direct service staff to advocate on behalf of clients who are navigating systems related to wellness, benefits, law enforcement, and courts. Provide clinical guidance in all direct-service matters and support the supervisory staff to grow the direct service program to best serve survivors in our communities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Complete program intake and psychosocial assessment for prospective participants of the program;

  • Provide 1 hour virtual or in-person therapy sessions for survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and/or trafficking.

  • Develop and implement individualized service plans for participants, using strengths-based approach;

  • Provide crisis counseling, information, referrals, accompaniment and advocacy as needed;

  • Provide interventions that promote positive relationships among participants, their families, communities;

  • Facilitate support, educational and therapeutic groups;

  • Help plan and engage in activities and events to promote community-building, individual development and empowerment;

  • Maintain proper documentation (record keeping, reports and statistical information) on a timely manner for all clients;

  • Provide complete and accurate information about client outcomes and services in a timely manner.

  • Develop and facilitate ongoing, in-house training to ensure continual development of all direct-service staff

  • Reviews service plans and provides casework support to direct service staff.

  • Troubleshoots problems and roadblocks and works with program staff on resolution to provide quality services.

  • Displays resourcefulness and flexibility in meeting the training and development needs of staff.

  • Provides regular communication of pertinent information to employees, co-workers, supervisors and community partners.

  • Facilitates and/or attends internal and external meetings as assigned.

  • Carries out all duties in accordance with funding requirements, State and Federal Regulations.

  • Provides on-call crisis intervention and support back-up to staff as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Must have a desire to work with, and have a thorough understanding of victim centered approaches, trauma informed care and Systems.

  • Must have the demonstrated ability to work with others in a warm, non-judgmental manner and be a positive role model

  • Must be able to cooperatively plan with others and be creative in planning.

  • Must exhibit professionalism, good judgment and flexibility.

  • Must have knowledge of public services and resources.

  • Must possess valid NYS Driver’s license and have access to registered, reliable vehicle for travel and transporting clients.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work, or Counseling and one year experience working with youth and families; or

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service field with advanced study in the field of Family Systems, Social Work or Counseling, and three years experience working with youth and families;

  • Individuals working towards licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) are encouraged to apply.
